It is exciting for MJP Legal to announce that Caitlin Eaton has returned to her position as Law Clerk in the Firm. Caitlin is studying a combined Arts/Law degree at the University of NSW and recently spent 8 month studying and touring in Europe.
“I recently returned from spending eight months overseas where I was fortunate to spend a semester studying at Sciences Po, Paris. I am currently in my third year of a combined Arts/Law degree at the University of New South Wales, and whilst on exchange in Paris I completed subjects towards my Arts Major; International Relations.
Although the courses were taught in English, my French has improved dramatically, and I have gladly moved passed the stage of only being able to say ‘bonjour’ and ‘merci’. It was a fantastic opportunity to immerse myself in another culture and lifestyle, and the quality of teaching was very high. I especially loved bike-riding from my petit Parisian apartment in the 12th arrondissement, across the Seine and to university in the Saint Germain area.
I met many fellow exchange students from all over the world, and together we savoured cheese from the local fromagerie, baguettes from the boulangerie, macarons from Pierre Hermé and fabulous wine from the French countryside. I also spent some time travelling, and particularly enjoyed Queen’s Day (the national holiday) in Amsterdam, marvelling at the relics of modern history in Berlin, and cherishing the more ancient ones in Egypt. I spent my final week sailing in Croatia and it has been a stark contrast to return to reality back in Sydney.
Nonetheless, I have enjoyed catching up with friends and family, getting back into routine at UNSW, and am very pleased to have resumed work with Michael at MJP Legal”.
